The Day of the Holy Spirit (The Day After Pentecost)

The Holy Spirit enriches a man with spiritual gifts and virtues: with kindness and mercy, love and joy, peace and longsuffering, meekness and self-control, and, of course, sincere and all-encompassing faith.

The Day of the Holy Spirit (The Day After Pentecost)

The day after we commemorate the Holy Trinity (The Feast of Pentecost), the Christian world commemorates the day of the Holy Spirit, who descended upon Christ's disciples.

The apostles, taught by the Holy Spirit, began boldly preaching to everyone about Jesus Christ the Son of God. They preached about His sufferings for us and His resurrection from the dead.

Because of this, the Christian faith began to spread, and with God's help the number of those who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ grew every day. And on that day, the establishment of God's kingdom on earth, Christ's holy Church, began.

The Holy Spirit is one with the Father and Son. All wisdom, life, and movement is given through the Holy Spirit, the source of all life.

He enriches a man with spiritual gifts and virtues: with kindness and mercy, love and joy, peace and longsuffering, meekness and self-control, and, of course, sincere and all-encompassing faith. For this reason the whole Orthodox world commemorates the Day of the Holy Spirit.
