The ecumenical prayer was timed to coincide with the 16th Synod of Catholic Bishops.
On September 30, 2023, Patriarch Bartholomew, Pope Francis, Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, as well as representatives of other Christian denominations took part in ecumenical prayer in St. Peter's Square in the Vatican, reports orthodoxianewsagency.gr.
The ecumenical prayer, organized by the French monastic community of Taizé and bringing together thirty thousand young people, was timed to coincide with the 16th Synod of Catholic Bishops, which will last throughout October and will be dedicated to the theme: “Towards a Synodal Church: communication, participation, mission.”
Earlier, the head of Phanar prayed in Hungary with Catholic monks in a Catholic monastery.
