Greek [2] Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has established a committee to develop a National Strategy for LGBT Equality to determine the strategy, goals and actions of government ministries and bodies in this direction, Pentapostagma.gr [3] reports.
According to the Greek prime minister, he considers such a decision a good thing for the nation, and ensuring LGBT rights is the responsibility of the state. "LGBT people must find an equal place in the economic, political and social life of our country. It's their individual right, but it's also the state's responsibility, and I think it's also a mature step for the good of the whole nation," Mitsotakis said.
The government committee was headed by former European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) president Linos-Alexander Sicilianos.
