The Blessed Musa of Rome
St. Gregory the Dialogist is the one who told us about the Blessed Musa. He told his archdeacon, Peter, what he had heard about Musa from her brother, Probus. St. Musa lived in the fifth century, and her good behavior set her apart from others.
Once, the Theotokos appeared to Musa in a dream, surrounded by maidens. She asked her,
"Do you want to come with me and live with these maidens?
"Yes, I do!" the girl replied.
"Then don't do anything bad, and avoid laughter and children's games. On the thirtieth day I will come for you, and you will live with us."
From that time on Musa became serious, and spent all her time in concentrated prayer. Her parents were amazed at their daughter's behavior, and asked her what had happened. The girl told them about her vision.
On the twenty-fifth day Musa became sick, and on the thirtieth day she saw the Theotokos again. "I am coming, I am coming to you, my Lady!" she quietly said, and gave up her soul into the hands of the Holy Theotokos. Thus, the young Musa left this earthly life, and settled in the heavenly habitations.
The twenty-ninth of May is the feast day of the Blessed Musa of Rome.
