Orthodox Christians for Life joined this year's gatherings at the March for Life on January 19 in Washington, DC, and the Walk for Life West Coast on January 20 in San Francisco, CA, as well as other pro-life marches around the country.

"We are excited to be representing Orthodoxy at a record number of marches this year. Our affiliated groups... not only [marched] in Washington, DC, but also [joined] local events in over a dozen cities,” said Emily Yocum, Executive Director.

"We march in solidarity with our non-Orthodox brothers and sisters, as a public witness to the Church's pro-life stance and commitment to participating in the pro-life movement,” she added.

His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon, again lead a pro-life prayer service prior to the national March for Life. Most of the other gatherings also incorporated a prayer service, and in true Orthodox fashion, the singing of hymns while processing together. Many of them included a Liturgy served at a local parish the morning of the event.

Marches that had an Orthodox presence this month included San Francisco, San Diego, Austin, Boise, Indianapolis, Tucson, and others. A map of these locations can be found at oclife.org.

Beyond the public witness of marching, Orthodox Christians for Life is dedicated to equipping and mobilizing Orthodox individuals to participate in the pro-life cause all year long through prayer, education, and support for mothers in difficult pregnancies. Parishes interested in receiving resources and assistance at no cost from Orthodox Christians for Life can form an affiliated pro-life group.
