According to a recent poll, 2/3 of Russians believe groups are using propaganda about non-traditional sex to destroy the traditional values of the Russian people. But the numbers are slipping. Nearly 1/2 the young people in Russia don't believe this is a threat.
Two-thirds of Russians believe there is a group of people wanting to rewrite Russian history, and to destroy the spiritual values of Russian citizens.
In August, 2018, the Russian Public Opinion Research Center presented data regarding Russians' views on these matters.
Two-thirds of Russians (66%) believe there is a group of people who want to rewrite Russian history, substituting historical facts to harm Russia, diminishing the nation's greatness. Among 45-59 year-olds and people age 60 and up, this share is higher — 72% for each group.
A quarter of respondents (26%) believe that such a group of individuals does not exist. About half the time, young people aged 18 to 24 (47%) and people with incomplete secondary education (42%) adhere to this point of view, arguing that if individual historians reassess historical events in Russia, it is because they are trying to get to the bottom of the truth.
Most Russian citizens (63%) believe in the existence of an organization that seeks to destroy the spiritual values of Russian citizens, through the propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations. This number is slightly higher among 45-59 year-olds (69%) and people with secondary special education (67%).
The opposite opinion is held by a quarter of Russians (24%), saying there is no propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations in Russia. Nearly half the time (48%), young people aged 18 to 24 claim that homosexual activists in Russia do not pursue destructive goals.
