Biden Pledges Support for Ukraine Against "Russian Aggression"

U.S. President Joe Biden, in a phone conversation with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky on Friday night, said that the United States supports Ukraine's sovereignty. The White House said in a statement.

"President Biden reaffirmed U.S. unwavering support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of Russian aggression in Donbas and Crimea," the White House said.

During the conversation, Biden assured Zelensky of his support for the country's reforms and said that he "has full information about what is happening in and around Ukraine."

Today was the first telephone conversation between the leaders of Ukraine and the United States since Biden was elected president. According to Zelensky's office head Andrei Yermak, they lasted almost an hour.

During the conversation, Biden expressed his desire to visit Ukraine. Zelensky invited the US president to the summit of the "Crimea Platform", an initiative of Kiev, within the framework of which Ukraine plans to coordinate with Western countries efforts aimed at returning Crimea to Ukraine.
