For those who own passenger cars, and who have three or more minor children, Russian Parliament is proposing to offer an exemption from paying the transportation tax. The LDPR introduced this bill in the State Duma.
The initiative, which was prepared by deputies and senators, refers to cars with an engine power of up to 150 horsepower.
“There is no need to levy a tax on the use of personal passenger transport for families with three or more children, as well as for single parents. But for the transportation not to be a spaceship, it has to be no more than 150 horses under the hood,” explained Yaroslav Nilov, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor.
It is proposed to exempt not only those with many children, but also single parents of one or more minors from the tax.
The law is expected to come into force on January 1, 2024.
